Event description

Head Back to School with Books for Readers of Every Age.

Join us for an evening of poems and stories with Daniel Khalastchi and Michelle Falkoff.

The Tannery Series goes back to school with two fresh, unforgettable voices, poet Daniel Khalastchi(Tradition) and YA novelist Michelle Falkoff (Playlist for the Dead). Come explore the joys and complications of family, friendship and understanding yourself–perfect for readers of every age.

On the Program:

Daniel Khalastchi reads from his hilarious, heartrending, wildly inventive book, Tradition. His poems bring to life a speaker struggling to find a balance between familial pressure and personal identity, religious faith and recognition of the world’s calamities.

Michelle Falkoff reads from her debut YA novel Playlist for the Dead. Part mystery, part love story, and part coming-of-age tale, this is an honest and gut-wrenching first novel about loss, rage, what it feels like to outgrow a friendship that’s always defined you—and the struggle to redefine yourself. But above all, it’s about finding hope when hope seems like the hardest thing to find.

Free and open to the public. Young Adult readers especially welcome!

And stay tuned for details of our complete fall schedule—including a book launch a festival and more!
