Event description

Kick-off Your Summer as The Tannery Series Heads to PEM for a Grand Tour of the Great American Story

Jun 18, 2015, 7 pm @ the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA

Need some serious inspiration for your summer road trip? Join the Tannery Series and celebrated author Andre Dubus III, as we take a turn on America’s storied byways, meandering from Hollywood boulevards to the back-alleys of Massachusetts mill towns. Together, we’ll explore the great American preoccupation with the open road and open spaces. The evening includes craft beer tastings, folk music, the paintings of Thomas Hart Benton and a rollicking book talk. You’ll leave this party ready for a grand adventure of your own.

On the Program:

Andre Dubus III (House of Sand and Fog, Townie) reads and discusses the role of travel–from epic migrations to summer road-trips–in the American imagination and in his own work.

If you’re ready to get your summer in gear, come toast and talk with The Tannery Series.

This event is part of The Tannery Series’ on-going collaboration with the Peabody Essex Museum. The event is fee for museum members and Salem residents. $ 10 for all others. Doors open at 6pm. For more information, info@tanneryseries.com.
